The i-Signum is used to promote better flow on cycling paths.

This is realized by coupling the i-Signum to Monotoch’s TLEX/UDAP data platform that effects communication between traffic signals and road users.

How does this work?

The i-Signum is installed in front of the iVRI (cycling traffic signal). The i-Signum detects with high accuracy the number, time, speed and direction of vehicles on the cycling path. The detection data are then converted to CAM data and linked to Monotoch’s TLEX/UDAP data platform. This platform is directly connected with the cycling traffic signal and ensures that the signal gives priority to cycling pelotons. The more vehicles detected on the cycling path, the higher the priority that can be given to the traffic signal.


By using the i-Signum at the right locations, this means no bottlenecks and a better flow on the cycling path. This is safer for cyclers, prevents irritation due to long wait times for cycling traffic signals and the cycler arrives faster at his or her destination.

With the i-Signum plus, you can also have permanent cycling tele-measurements done in order to answer questions such as:

  • how many bikes are riding per direction, per part of the day, per day, per week, per month;
  • how many bikes ride in the morning and evening rush hour;
  • how many bikes, e-bikes and light-mopeds and mopeds ride on the bike path based on speeds.

The i- Signum measures actual data of vehicles on cycle paths without application of algorithms.

The i-Signum is a contactless bicycle counter measuring system and generates actual data of vehicles on cycle paths without application of algorithms with an accuracy of more than 95%, even during peak hours.

No noise from other vehicles

The i-Signum can be adjusted in a very targeted manner, which prevents unwanted data around the measurement location.
